Affordable Electric Vehicles in India: 2-Wheelers

Navya Parmar

2-wheelers are an easy, quick, affordable transportation method for Indians, especially the younger populations with longer commutes to work and university. As India’s economy goes towards more electric vehicles, this means improvement for these practices.

Electric 2-wheelers are becoming a first choice for budget-conscious individuals in India, and there’s a lot of reasons as to why. First, there are fuel-saving fees, since charging in EV costs just a few rupees per ride, which is much cheaper than petrol. Additionally, it is for the most part maintenance, as there are no oil changes required, plus which makes it good for the environment, making it the ideal solution for cities, as it is small, silent and lightweight.

Heres are some electric two wheelers in India, priced affordably (and a perfect vehicle for those looking to try an EV):

There is a strong government incentive for making EVs cheaper with schemes like India’s FAME II, which means there will be subsidies to reduce the upfront cost of electric scooters and bikes. Many state governments can offer additional benefits as well.

The market for these two-wheelers is only going to grow, as more continue to invest in initiatives for better batteries, features, and designs, while keeping prices competitive. Switching to electric two-wheelers is no longer a futuristic idea, they are the right move to choose right now. With more affordable options right now, the time is right to make the switch.
